Hi, I’m Patti.

I started my career as a software engineer, but what I discovered over time was that I loved the operational and human side of building a company just as much as the technical side.

That instinct led me to Waverley Software, where I spent 17 years growing from Director of Program & Account Management to Vice President of Operations to Chief Operating Officer. Along the way, I helped open development centers in Latin America and Europe, mentored the general managers who ran them, navigated the complexity of international operations across multiple time zones and cultures, and worked in close partnership with our CEO to shape the company’s strategy and direction. It was demanding, meaningful work — and I loved it.

Now I’m channeling that same financial discipline and operational experience closer to home. I founded Timber & Ledger to help small businesses and community organizations in Western Massachusetts — and beyond — get a clear picture of their finances.

I live in Chesterfield, Massachusetts, on the edge of the woods near Damon Pond. When I’m not helping clients get their books in order, you’ll find me enjoying the quiet of the hilltowns — the same community I’m proud to serve.

How I work

I believe small business owners deserve the same quality of financial management that large companies take for granted. You shouldn’t need a full-time CFO to have clean books, clear reports, and a realistic budget. You just need someone experienced, reliable, and honest – who shows up every month and keeps things running smoothly.

I work as a partner, not just a vendor. That means I’ll tell you what I see in your numbers – the good and the not-so-good – and help you figure out what to do about it.
